Despite being on the same wing as a lively wedding party and experiencing some noise from party-goers smoking outside, my stay at the hotel offered a great view, albeit with a slightly damp feeling. The location overlooking the mouth of the Tyne was brilliant, with easy access to South Shields park, the beach, and a short walk to the Metro for travels to Newcastle or Sunderland.
The hotel is in a great spot by the rivermouth with beautiful views across to Tynemouth. The rooms could do with updating, but the service is friendly and the location is fantastic for beach lovers. The dining experience had its ups and downs, and some facilities need improvements.
